Our joint vision for this partnership is two congregations (Shaaray Tefila and Ohel Avraham) and two schools (Shaaray Tefila’s Religious School and Leo Baeck Education Center) whose members, students, and families are deeply and strongly connected to each other on a personal level and thereby develop stronger Jewish identities and live richer Jewish lives. Our programming engages congregants of all ages from our early childhood programs to our adult programs. Our name for the partnership – “Gateways and Tents” – draws from the names of the two congregations: Shaaray Tefila (Gates of Prayer) and Ohel Avraham (Tent of Abraham).
We are more than partners- we are family.
It brings us great pleasure to share with you our partnership video as we begin this New Year, 5775. This documentary shares the different aspects of our incredible partnership between Shaaray Tefila and Ohel Avraham-Leo Baeck Education Center. We are extremely grateful to the UJA-Federation of New York and the Jewish Agency of Israel for their financial support to produce this video and for the resources for us to establish our program. We also would like to thank all of the participants in our documentary (including all those interviewed or taped in both Haifa and New York City that did not make it into the final version). Thank you to our videographer, David Chernak, producers, Rabbi Gabby Dagan and Hope Chernak and film editors, David Chernak and Carlos Garcia.
